Mother’s Day Out & Pre-K
About the Programs
Jefferson Baptist Church is pleased to offer quality Mother's Day Out and Pre-Kindergarten programs. Caring teachers are always available to guide, love, and listen to your child. Our teachers plan interesting and engaging activities incorporating songs, stories, skills, arts and crafts while sharing about God's love. Our curriculum is child-centered, educationally sound, and developmentally based.
Our MDO classes are guided by Louisiana's Birth to Five Early Learning & Development Standards (ELDS) and will also incorporate the ABC Jesus Loves Me curriculum which focuses on academics, development, and Bible learning through play.
Our Pre-K class instruction will be guided by the Abeka preschool program which addresses academic and biblical principles as a bridge between a preschool experience and kindergarten. Timely. Thorough. Trustworthy.
What We Offer
Our program hours are from 8:55 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. We are closed on Wednesdays. Enrollment is open to one-year-olds (by September 30th) through Pre-kindergarten-aged children, provided our program can meet the needs of that child. Our younger children can attend two or three days a week.
We do offer a four-day option for our oldest MDO classes & Pre-K class. Registration is handled by the director in person. Registration is ongoing as openings become available.

Meet the Director!
Joan Lee
I’m a teacher by training and will always be a teacher at heart. I started my career as a full-time educator and met my husband, Chris, in the singles group here at Jefferson. We got married and began our family. For the next several years, I cherished the time at home while raising our two little kiddos. I then enjoyed being a mom with young children in our MDO program. After some time, I felt led to accept a teaching position in our program, eventually leading to my current role as director! My daughter, Jenna, is a freshman in college, and my son, John, is a sophomore in high school. We also have a puppy, Sandie, our little fur baby. I am delighted to get to know the families God brings into our program. These early years in the lives of our children are so sweet and filled with special firsts and precious moments. I love serving our families with young children in our programs at Jefferson Baptist Church!
